The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet had a rich tradition of teaching music, art and drama at their academies for women. They established St. Agatha’s Convent and Conservatory of Music and Art in St. Paul at 26 E. Exchange Street, in the 1880s. Artemis is housed in a free standing three story building that was originally the Conservatory’s chapel. This turn of the century structure boasts original woodwork, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and a very unique character.
